Epilepsy
The condition affects 50 million people with significant negative effects on an individual's physical and psychological health. Epilepsy costs the UK NHS over £1.5 billion each year.
Up to 75% of people with epilepsy could be seizure-free. However, two major factors prevent appropriate diagnosis and treatment. First, limited access to expert neurologists, and second the difficulties of diagnosing specific forms of epilepsy based on witness accounts alone.
This new digital service will allow patients and carers to share video remotely, quickly and securely with their care team which can greatly improve diagnostic accuracy and selection of the right therapy.
The addition of AI-powered automated analysis and triage of consented videos will be a transformative addition to the diagnostic segment, complementing and supporting current growth in the epilepsy therapies.
