Aimee and Robbie are receiving our Best Buddy Sibling Award!

Mechelle has nominated Aimee (12) and Robbie (10) for our Best Buddy Sibling Award this week!

When their sister, Chloe, was born at 28 weeks and 5 days gestation, they were both so brave.⭐

Chloe was born at Simpsons Special Care in Edinburgh and there were lots of complications. These included: meningitis, sepsis, and a cyst that was restricting her airway.

At 2 weeks old, Chloe was transferred to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for surgery.

"Chloe's Dad and I ended up moving into the Ronald Mcdonald House and for about 7/8 weeks, I only saw Aimee and Robbie on the weekends.

Chloe's prognosis wasn't good when we were transferred back to Edinburgh just after her due date. We were told she may not make it home.

Chloe spent 170 days in 2 neonatal units and 1 children's hospital before coming home.

When she came home, she required a lot of care.

Chloe is now 3 and has been diagnosed with Cerebral palsy, affecting her whole body, which means she has no mobility independently.

She is completely tube fed and has a lot of health issues, meaning she is in and out of hospital a lot.

Life revolves around her needs and Chloe's equipment has taken over the house.

Since Chloe was born, I have not heard Aimee or Robbie complain once.

Even though I've had to miss chunks of their lives due to caring for Chloe.

They took everything in their stride and showed such bravery when Chloe was born.

Aimee and Robbie both absolutely adore Chloe and try to involve her in everything they do.

I really feel they deserve to be recognised."

What an incredibly brave pair. 💗
