Celebrating One Year of vCreate in the PICU at RHC, Glasgow

Twelve months ago today, the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow became the first PICU to launch vCreate’s Secure Video Diary!

Staff on the unit use the app to record video and photo updates of children on the unit, and send them on to their families via text or email when they cannot be with their child. This system is free for parents and the unit, and is being funded by the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, one of our generous sponsors.

Today we visited the unit to celebrate with families, staff and the charity. Whilst there we were lucky enough to meet some of the patients from the unit, Robyn, Rayhan and Super Josh who are pictured above. The children were treated to party bags and had a great time dressing up in their superhero masks and posing for photos with their nurses and photo props.

We’d like to thank Senior Staff Nurse Lesley Fisher, who has led the implementation of vCreate on the unit, the PICU team, and Glasgow Children’s Hospital charity for inviting us to the unit today to mark this special occasion.

To enquire about using vCreate in your PICU, visit www.vcreate.tv, or book a demo here. If you are attending the Joint Paediatric Critical Care International Meeting later this month, you may catch Lesley presenting an abstract on the benefits of using vCreate in the PICU, we can't wait!
