Jennifer's NICU Superhero is Karen from Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley!

     

Jennifer has nominated the wonderful Karen from Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for our NICU Superhero Award!

Jennifer's daughter, Sophia, was born at 29 weeks gestation and spent the first 10 days of her life in Glasgow, before being transferred back to Paisley where she stayed for 5 weeks.

"Karen was one of the first nurses to take over Sophia's care. As I was a first-time parent to a premature baby, Karen was great at making me feel at ease and reassuring me that she would take good care of Sophia.

Karen was patient, kind, and always on hand to answer any questions I had. It wasn't just a job for her, she cared deeply for all of the babies in her care.

Karen always goes above and beyond for the babies and we just wanted to say a big thank you to her!"

Congratulations, Karen! You're a real superhero. Sophia is now nearly three and still, Jennifer keeps her updated on Sophia's progress and talks through any worries with her.
