Roberta from William Harvey Hospital is Genevieve's NICU Superhero!

     

Genevieve has nominated Roberta from William Harvey Hospital to be crowned NICU Superhero this week because she was so supportive during her son's neonatal stay. 💜

"Roberta was a massive help through our NICU journey.

It can be such an isolating place, especially when you have other children at home and can only stay for short periods of time.

Roberta became a friend to me and took the time to chat. I never felt like I couldn't talk to her!

She was with me when my son, Finn, had his MRI which was one of the scariest things. She calmed me down without even realising she was doing so.

I got so upset about being apart from Finn so I asked Roberta to cuddle him when she had time.

Later that day, she sent me photos of him having a cuddle which put a big smile on my face.

Roberta was our ray of sunshine! All the nurses were amazing but Roberta holds a special place in our hearts."

Going the extra mile to reassure parents with photos and videos when they can't be on the unit makes a massive difference to families.
