Rowan from Glasgow's Royal Hospital for Children is a PICU Superstar!

Rowan from Glasgow's Royal Hospital for Children has been nominated for our PICU Superstar Award by Rachel.

Rachel's little boy, Maxwell, was only 20 weeks when he took unwell and was admitted to the PICU.

During Maxwell's stay in the PICU, Rachel was so grateful to Rowan for her fantastic care.

"Maxwell was sent to the PICU with croup, positive COVID, RSV, and other complications.

I was extremely emotional when Maxwell was admitted because my partner was down south so I was on my own until the afternoon.

Rowan made me feel so comfortable in such an intense environment.

Her caring and compassionate attitude blew me away, especially being a nurse myself.

Rowan was the one that introduced me to vCreate. She sent me a beautiful photo of Maxwell wishing us a happy anniversary. I didn't realise how intently she was listening to everything we told her.

Rowan supported me in doing personal care for Max so I felt involved.

She made sure he had some dinosaur tape for his NG tube (which are his favourite!).

I am so appreciative of everything Rowan has done for us.

Thank you!"

Congratulations, Rowan. Your caring and compassionate nature really help to put parents at ease during an incredibly stressful time.
