A parent story

" I loved having the vCreate videos sent to me when my daughter was in special care last month at DVH, it really is a lovely thing that makes the experience a lot easier, especially having other children at home and not being able to be in the hospital 24/7. Wish it would have been around when my son was in there in 2017! " Bethany

" I recommend this service to every parent in my position. I am beyond grateful to the staff for sending me my little videos. You can always have another peek at them, and they just keep you sane in the knowledge that they are getting the best care possible. All hail EVERY neonatal staff member, as they all go out of their way to make your journey as stress free as possible. Unbelievably grateful. " Claire

" Thank you for sending us these lovely videos almost daily, makes us feel comfortable when we are not with our boy, and our little girl also loves seeing these videos of her brother, we wake up and look forward to them! Staff go above and beyond! " Emma

" Having a baby in NICU and being separated is the hardest thing we've ever had to go through. Having the videos and pictures helped the process and gave me something to look forward to when we were apart. It also gave reassurance when times were very shaky with her health. And to top it all off, I have a collection of videos from the first 5 months of her life which show just how far she came. Forever thankful. " Mary

" The videos coming in during the night were especially comforting as we could see that our baby was ok before we called or visited the unit. This was especially comforting during night time expressing sessions. " Lynn

" When you're away from your baby and you have other children at home and you have to leave them, they send you videos and photos to relieve the separation anxiety you have with your baby. I seriously can't put into words how much it helps, it still isn't ever going to be the same as being with your baby but it gives you some reassurance that they're doing just fine whilst being away from them through the night or just a little while through the day because as any normal mother or father, you're going to worry so so much. I fully recommend it to any mother or father in our position. " Kaisha

" Many parents are not able to be with their baby in the Neonatal Unit all day; video updates are a brilliant way of providing reassurance to mums and dads during a stressful time because they can actually see their baby and ask questions. "

Neil Patel, Consultant Neonatologist. The Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow

" Video messaging is a welcome addition to our pioneering family integrated care approach. Parents say that receiving video updates of their child provides reassurance during a stressful time and access to the secure baby-care video diary ensures that special moments that may have been missed before the introduction of video technology, can now be kept forever. "

Liz McKechnie, Consultant Neonatologist. Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust

" I would definitely recommend vCreate; it means so much to parents; much more than phoning and being told their baby is okay, now parents can see how their child is doing for themselves. "

Helen Coates, Neonatal Sister. Darent Valley Hospital SCBU, Dartford
